Subject: Dry Stuff Here
A nice look back in time but the subject matter is dry even for local stuff. The most interesting things in this program are the president of the board of education's feathery hat and her stole, and the boys club leader putting his arm around that boy right on camera. Yikes! If that was today - could you imagine?

I'd say Detroit's "Juvenile Court" was way more interesting (ca. 1965).

Subject: A few notes
There's a couple of seconds at the end of a promo for the episode "The Girl Reporter" of syndicated series "Cannonball". That episode was originally broadcast on 1 December 1958 (assuming that KTVU showed it the same day as other stations, and that the episode being promoted was not a repeat).

KTVU began broadcasting on 3 March 1958 (per Wikipedia). It was an independent station, which may contribute to the lack of production polish in this episode.

Network series in those days ran 25-26 minutes minus ads...local series about 22-25 minutes. This episode contains no ads, though the sponsor is mentioned several times.

But the program itself isn't particularly good, and one wonders why this episode still exists, while far more interesting 1950s television series like "It's Alec Templeton Time" and "The Hazel Scott Show" are lost.

Mind you, although I don't find much merit in this episode, it appears others disagree, as a radio version of "Teenage Salute" ran for quite a while. On radio ran to at least 1968, oddly enough.
